Why it beats waxing

Waxing needs regrowth before each appointment, so you spend half of every cycle hairy. Laser works in the opposite direction: you shave before each session and the hair thins permanently across the course. Ingrown hairs, which are the main complaint in this area, largely resolve because the follicle is no longer producing coarse hair.

Course and spacing

Six to eight sessions six to eight weeks apart is typical, though this area often sits at the longer end because the hair is coarse and the follicles are dense. A free patch test is done at least twenty-four hours before the first session.

Comfort

Sensitive area, coarse hair, so it is sharper than the leg. The Lynton handpiece cools the skin as it fires, Rebecca works in short passes, and most clients find it considerably more comfortable than a wax — and much faster.

Practicalities

Shave the day before. Avoid deodorant, oils or moisturiser on the area on the day. No sunbeds, no fake tan for two weeks before, and no hot baths, swimming or gym for twenty-four hours afterwards. Treatment is in a private room with an aesthetics nurse.

Periods and pregnancy

We can treat during a period if you are comfortable and using a tampon; plenty of clients prefer to reschedule and that is fine. We do not treat during pregnancy.
