Balayage, highlights, root work and full colour — placed to grow out gracefully rather than to need rescuing in six weeks.

Balayage
Colour painted freehand onto the surface of the hair rather than saturated from the root, so the lightness sits where the light naturally falls and the regrowth line is soft instead of a hard band. It is the reason balayage suits people who do not want to be in the salon every six weeks — a good one can be left for three or four months and still look deliberate.
Balayage, highlights or babylights
- Balayage — hand-painted, soft, sun-lightened, low maintenance
- Foil highlights — brighter and more uniform, lifted from closer to the root
- Babylights — very fine, very close to the root, for subtle all-over brightness
- Root melt or shadow root — softens a regrowth line on existing colour
What is realistic in one appointment
Going several shades lighter from dark or previously coloured hair usually takes more than one visit if the hair is to stay in good condition. Hair has a limit on how much lift it will take in a sitting, and pushing past it is how you get breakage. We will tell you at consultation whether what you want is a single appointment or a plan across two or three, and what each stage costs, before anything is mixed.
Consultation and patch test
A patch test is required at least forty-eight hours before any colour service, and again if it has been more than six months. This is not negotiable — colour allergies develop and the consequences of skipping it are serious. Book the consultation and patch test together.
Making it last
Sulphate-free shampoo, heat protection every time, and a toner or gloss between full appointments to keep brassiness away. We will tell you which products actually matter rather than selling you a shelf of them.
Prices
A free consultation and patch test at least 48 hours before any colour service is required. Balayage is quoted individually and is not on the online booking menu — call 01670 641601. See the full price list.

Your questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a patch test?
Yes, at least forty-eight hours before any colour service and again if more than six months have passed. We will not colour without one.
How often does balayage need doing?
Three to four months for most people, which is one of the main reasons to choose it. A toner or gloss in between keeps it fresh.
Can I go blonde in one appointment?
It depends where you are starting from. From dark or previously coloured hair, going several shades lighter safely usually takes two or three appointments. We will tell you honestly at consultation.
How much will it cost?
Colour is priced by hair length and thickness, so the figures here are starting prices. The consultation gives you an exact quote before anything is booked.
