Skin clinic · MorpethAcne Treatment in Morpeth, Northumberland
Active breakouts, adult hormonal acne and the scarring left behind — treated as a plan across IPL, peels, LED and homecare rather than as a single facial.

Acne is treated as a course, not an appointment
Nothing clears acne in one session. What works is a combination, sequenced properly and kept up for several months: light to reduce the bacteria and calm inflammation, exfoliation to keep the follicle clear, and homecare doing the daily work between visits.
We start with a consultation or a full skin analysis, because adult hormonal acne along the jaw, congestion across the T-zone and teenage breakouts are three different problems that respond to different plans.
IPL for active acne
Blue light targets the bacteria involved in acne while the broader spectrum reduces inflammation and redness. It is well suited to inflamed, angry skin that cannot tolerate much topically. Single areas start at £90, a full face is £145, and a course of six is £700 — which is where the meaningful change happens.
Peels and microneedling
AlumierMD peels keep the follicles clear and improve texture, stepped from Initial through to POWER+ as tolerance builds. For the scarring that acne leaves behind, EPN microneedling is the better tool — it works on the texture rather than the breakouts, and it is usually a later stage of the plan rather than the first.
LED, including teenagers
Dermalux LED calms inflammation and speeds healing, and is gentle enough to run alongside almost anything. We keep a dedicated teen LED programme at a lower price because teenage skin often responds very well to light and homecare alone, without anything aggressive.
Homecare does most of the work
AlumierMD prescription-grade homecare is not an upsell here, it is the treatment. Clinic sessions every few weeks cannot outrun the wrong cleanser used twice daily. Products ship direct from AlumierMD on Jessica's prescribing portal.
When to see a doctor instead
Severe, cystic or scarring acne needs a GP or dermatologist and may need oral medication. We will say so rather than start a course that was never going to be enough.

Your questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the best treatment for adult acne?
There is rarely one. Adult hormonal acne usually responds best to IPL for the active inflammation, peels to keep follicles clear, and prescription-grade homecare daily. The plan is set at consultation after looking at your skin.
Do you treat teenagers?
Yes. We run a dedicated teen LED programme from £40 a session, and teenage skin often does well on light and correct homecare without anything stronger.
Can you treat acne scars?
Yes, with EPN microneedling — though scarring is treated after the active acne is under control, not alongside it.
How long before I see a difference?
Expect six to twelve weeks for a clear change, and to keep going after that. Anyone promising faster is selling you something.
